Game Recap

Why the Blazers won: Damon Stoudamire got hot in the third quarter,
hitting three three-pointers, and the Blazers bench had a
spectacular fourth quarter as Steve Smith, Arvydas Sabonis, Detlef
Schrempf and Greg Anthony combined to hit 10 of 16 shots and score
23 points.

Top performers: Stoudamire, who was uncertain if he would play
because of a head cold and a sore groin, had 21 points on 9-of-17
shooting. Steve Smith continued his monthlong surge, scoring 19
points with four assists and five rebounds. Rashard Lewis led
Seattle with 21 points and Patrick Ewing had 11 points and 11
rebounds.

Notes: Shawn Kemp had his second start of the season and finished
with six points on 3-of-10 shooting. He started in place of Rasheed
Wallace, who served the second game of his two-game suspension for
throwing a towel at a referee. . . . The Blazers have five days off
for the All-Star break, returning to action Tuesday at home against
Minnesota. The Blazers (35-15) reached the break with the best
record in the Western Conference.
