Scouting Report 
Preseason projected role Despite his age (almost 38 years old), Sabonis 
has the size to slow down Blazers nemesis Shaquille O'Neal -- a little 
bit. He will start the season coming off the bench behind Dale Davis at 
center. Assets Huge, massive man. Has soft hands and a crisp jump shot. 
Doesn't make mistakes. An effective defender simply because he takes up 
the entire lane. Flaws Glacier slow. His production has tailed off in 
recent years. Not a superb physical specimen or aggressive defender. 
Career potential Sabonis could very well take over the starting job from 
Dale Davis as the season wears on -- providing he is healthy. Look for 
close to eight points and eight rebounds a night over the course of the 
season.
